Pirtek UK and Ireland announces partnership with suicide prevention charity, PIPS

Under The Hard Hat, the mental health awareness campaign launched by Pirtek UK and Ireland in October last year, is pleased to announce a new charity partnership that will cover Northern Ireland, offering support to both the franchisee and customers in this area to create an environment that celebrates positive mental wellbeing.

PIPS Suicide Prevention Ireland has been selected as the charity partner as it aligns closely with the objectives of Under the Hard Hat, which focuses on promoting positive mental health and preventing some of the challenges that the hard hat industries face such as depression, loneliness, anxiety and suicidal thoughts.

PIPS helps individuals, families and organisations who have been affected by mental health issues and suicide. It delivers suicide prevention and bereavement support services through one-to-one sessions, mentoring and support groups, signposting to support organisations and home visits across Northern Ireland. It offers a free, confidential counselling service, with no restriction on the number of sessions provided.

PIPS operates out of three different locations in Northern Ireland, Belfast, Londonderry and Enniskillen. The charity is proud to be able to offer a free walk in service for anyone who is struggling with no appointment needed.

Commenting on the new partnership, Adam Burrows, Managing Director of Pirtek UK and Ireland said, “The Under the Hard Hat initiative is a core programme for us and we are delighted to add a new charity partner in Northern Ireland to the existing partnership we have with Andy’s Man Club in the UK and Pieta in the Republic of Ireland. We look forward to developing our partnership with PIPS Suicide Prevention Ireland over the coming weeks and working together to continue the work of promoting positive mental health in the workplace and beyond.”

Pirtek is based in Newtonabbey from where it services customers throughout the whole of Northern Ireland.
