Pirtek UK and Ireland announces partnership with suicide prevention charity, Pieta

Under The Hard Hat, the mental health awareness campaign launched by Pirtek UK and Ireland in October last year, is pleased to announce a new charity partnership that will cover the Republic of Ireland, offering support to both the franchisees and customers to create an environment that celebrates positive mental wellbeing.

Pieta has been selected as the charity partner as it aligns closely with the objectives of Under the Hard Hat, which focuses on promoting positive mental health and preventing some of the challenges that the hard hat industries face such as depression, loneliness, anxiety and suicidal thoughts.

Founded in 2006 and operating in 20 different locations through the ROI, Pieta offers support to those who struggle with self-harm and suicidal distress, offering over 300 trained therapists across its locations. It also provides bereavement support to families as well as awareness programmes designed to empower young people with coping mechanisms to promote positive mental wellbeing.

Commenting on the new partnership, Adam Burrows, Managing Director of Pirtek UK and Ireland said, “The Under the Hard Hat initiative is a core programme for us and we are delighted to add a new charity partner in the Republic of Ireland to the existing partnership we have with Andy’s Man Club in the UK and PIPS in Northern Ireland. We look forward to developing our partnership with Pieta over the coming weeks and working together to continue the work of promoting positive mental health in the workplace and beyond.”
