Sizewell C is a landmark low-carbon energy project on the Suffolk coast, adjacent to the existing Sizewell B facility. Once operational, it will generate clean energy for millions of homes, supporting the UK’s net-zero ambitions. Construction will span more than a decade, employing up to 8,000 people at peak activity through the mid-to-late 2030s.
Strategic Partnership and Early Access
Through sustained collaboration and negotiation, Pirtek has established a key strategic position as the principal hydraulic contractor for Sizewell C. Working closely with our partners, Pirtek has already secured site and vehicle passes—providing early access to the project ahead of broader supply chain engagement.
This milestone paves the way for the deployment of a fully equipped on-site hydraulic service container in late 2025, ensuring readiness as major civil works accelerate.
Supporting the Civil Works Alliance
The Civil Works Alliance is driving the core civil engineering phase. Pirtek’s involvement will support hydraulic operations across earthmoving, lifting, concrete production, and tunnelling, reflecting the scale and intensity of work seen at Hinkley Point C
