In June 2024, UK and Ireland hose experts, Pirtek announced its partnership with NorthCare Charity to raise funds for critical research into Fibromuscular Dysplasia (FMD), a cause that holds special significance for the company. The initiative came as one of Pirtek’s valued franchisees began battling this rare and complex condition, making the campaign deeply personal for the team.
FMD is a little-known and under-diagnosed vascular condition that affects the blood vessels. Currently, the cause remains unclear, and there are no specific treatments available. The condition can lead to severe health complications, including high blood pressure, strokes, heart attacks, and kidney impairment, highlighting the urgent need for research and support.
The funds raised will benefit NorthCare Charity, an organization dedicated to enhancing care within the Northern Care Alliance (NCA) NHS Foundation Trust. The charity plays a pivotal role in funding cutting-edge equipment, educational programs, innovative research, and staff wellbeing initiatives. These efforts ensure that over a million patients and their families receive exceptional care each year while supporting NHS staff in their mission to provide the best possible outcomes.
Pirtek recently held a charity event at their Annual Conference and were able to break through the £10k target they had set themselves, but are calling on supporters to join their efforts and contribute to this worthy cause. Donations will directly aid the ongoing work of NorthCare Charity, whose support extends to Pirtek’s cherished franchisee and their family during this challenging time.
“By working together, we can make a real difference for those affected by Fibromuscular Dysplasia and help advance the research needed to better understand and treat this condition,” Adam Burrows, Pirtek Managing Director stated.
