Pirtek Racing’s rising star Jamie Caroline has his sights firmly set on silverware as the battle for honours in the F4 British Championship certified by FIA – powered by Ford heads for Rockingham this weekend for the eighth meeting of the year.

The talented teenager makes the trip to the Northamptonshire circuit looking to bounce back from a tough weekend in Scotland last time out, where he endured three difficult races that left him unable to build on one of his best qualifying performances of the year.

Despite the challenging nature of race day at Knockhill, Jamie heads for Rockingham in optimistic mood, with his focus firmly on returning to the kind of form that has seen him secure four podium finishes to date in his rookie single-seater season.

A strong weekend at a circuit where he won twice last year en-route to the Ginetta Junior Championship would also further cement Jamie’s top ten championship position and allow him to close in on the drivers directly ahead in the standings.

“In the last few rounds, I think I’ve shown my pace with a good performance in qualifying but then the races have turned out to be difficult,” he said. “A double DNF at Snetterton and then the fact we were out of position for the races at Knockhill means I haven’t really picked up the results I should have done since the summer break.

“I’m aiming to put that right this weekend and if I can continue with my recent qualifying performances then I will be in a good position for the three races.

“With three rounds to go, I’m still determined to take the race win that I feel my performances have deserved this season. I know what it takes to win at Rockingham after a double win in the Ginettas last year, so I’ll be giving it my all to challenge at the front this weekend to put my recent misfortune behind me.”
