Pirtek place a strong emphasis on training their network of staff from depot assistant’s right through to Franchisee level with a priority placed on technical & Health & Safety training for its technical staff. The core of our training is based around induction and every member of staff that joins the Pirtek network attend a ten day residential training course at our purpose built National Training Centre which is situated in central Birmingham. The Induction programme is a City & Guilds accredited programme which is a highly intensive programme designed to ensure all of our staff members have the skills to select and assemble Pirtek products and components to the highest level.
In addition a large proportion of the induction programme focuses on Health & Safety standards, our team of NEBOSH qualified trainers ensure that the highest levels of Health & Safety training, instruction and information is imparted to all individuals that attend the programme. With the introduction of live plant and equipment within the training centre we are able to offer real life working experiences for all that attend the programme.
In addition to training our own staff the Pirtek Training team are also committed to meeting the needs of our customers training requirements and often embark on delivering training programmes for our network of customers. The majority of Pirtek customers are committed to training their own staff on safety awareness and more and more are looking to Pirtek to deliver specific safety around hydraulic hoses, systems and components as well as planned preventative maintenance training and on some occasions hydraulic hose assembly procedures.

When it comes to working in such diverse industries as Pirtek do, Safety is obviously paramount and we pride ourselves in having a low incident and accident record rate. With the company holding and maintaining OHSAS 18001 for several years it is a clear sign of the commitment to ensuring every member of staff goes home every day free from injury or ill health. In addition to having global OHSAS 18001 accreditation a proportion of Pirtek centres also hold safe contractor approval, this delivers a strong message to our customers that we do not compromise on safety.
