Pirtek Birmingham are the leading provider of Onsite Hydraulic Hose Replacement, and we are currently recruiting for a Mobile Service Technician.

With over 85 franchises throughout Ireland and the UK, we are looking to expand our highly professional Birmigham branch..

The Role

Working as part of a team of technicians, you will respond to customer breakdowns where a hydraulic hose has failed.  This can be on anything from a forklift to an excavator as we cover a wide range of plant and equipment ensuring no two days are the same.

From your mobile workshop, you will then make up the new hose assembly and refit for customer ensuring you meet all health and safety guidelines.

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and can work well as part of a team.

We will train and develop individuals with a technical background who possess the aptitude to succeed in this role.

Provide a professional On-site Hose Replacement Service to Pirtek customers. This role will include being part of a 24 hr ‘on-call’ rota with other franchise technicians.
Visit customer sites and carry out works as allocated
Inspect and test various types of plant, equipment and machinery
Report any faults, breakages or items requiring repairs.
Repair equipment on time and in line with training
Represent the company in a professional and friendly manner at all times
The day-to-day management of vehicle to include maintaining stock levels and performing routine checks.
Basic mechanical knowledge
Good manual dexterity and physical ability
Good communication skills both orally and in writing
The ability to present yourself in a professional and courteous manner to customers and staff
The ability to work unsupervised and to time constraints
Ability to effectively communicate technical information to engineering personnel
This role will include being part of a 24 hr ‘on-call’ rota with other technicians (currently 1 week in 7).

Work experience

  • Ideal person to have plant or motor trade background or experience with hydraulics
  • Work experience in a technical/engineering environment advantageous but not essential
