Pirtek runners raise 9K
For most people, the thought of running over 26 miles on a hot Sunday is not an attractive proposition. Not for the team of intrepid athletes from Pirtek UK who put in months of training to make sure they crossed the line. Led by newly appointed Sales Director Paul Dunlop, the team raised more than £9,000 for Arthritic Care UK, Prostrate Cancer UK and Christies Hospital.
"It may seem a little mad but the sense of achievement when you cross the finishing line is awesome" says Paul "The crowd carries you along with the other entrants to help take the pain away. I even managed to lose a couple of stone in weight as a result of the training". Keith Greenleaf also laid a claim to weight loss but his wife Caroline seems less convinced. Perhaps you can decide from the photograph.
