Pirtek backed VXRacing Celebrates Podium Sweep
Pirtek backed VX Racing claimed a podium sweep in the first race of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship event at Thruxton circuit. Fabrizio Giovanardi led his team mates home with Matt Neal in second place and Andrew Jordan in third position.
For the opening race Giovanardi started from pole with Neal beside him on the front row. Despite carrying the maximum success ballast of 45 kgs, Neal stayed ahead of third placed driver Jason Plato off the line. Andrew Jordan started fourth, but snatched third within the first few corners. Determined not to relinquish the all-VX Racing podium Jordan defended hard, fending off Plato in the opening laps and pulling away from his rivals. Pirtek backed VXRacing prepares for the Thruxton Thriller
Fresh from the opening race victory at Brands Hatch, Pirtek backed VXRacing will be looking to maintain the lead in the Championship standings, as the British Touring Car Championship heads to Thruxton in Hampshire this weekend. Championship leader Matt Neal , reigning Champion Fabrizio Giovanardi and rising star Andrew Jordan will be vying for victories as the team look to build on their opening round success.

The opening round of the 2009 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) which took place today at Brands Hatch circuit, Kent, gave Pirtek backed VX Racing plenty to celebrate with the team taking the lead in all the championship stan

Jordan joins works Vauxhall squad
Pirtek's Andrew Jordan will race alongside Matt Neal and reigning champion Fabrizio Giovanardi in the works VXRacing team in the 2009 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship. Following a very successful test with VXRacing in Spain during November, Andrew has been invited to race the third works car in 2009, which represents an amazing opportunity for the 19-year old racer.
