Pirtek Racing’s Andrew Jordan will start a new chapter in his Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship career at Brands Hatch (4/5 April) with his debut in the works MG team run by Triple Eight Racing.

Andrew and Pirtek will mount a bold new bid for BTCC success in 2015 and it all starts at the famous Kent track over the Easter weekend, with the traditional format of three races on Sunday. Triple Eight is the most successful team in the BTCC field and the MG6 GT is a proven race-winning package. The 2015 season will be Triple Eight’s 19th year in the BTCC, while MG is the fastest-growing automotive brand in the UK.

Andrew and the team are well-prepared for the season opener and he has taken pole position for the opening race in each of the last two seasons. In 2014, the Pirtek car headed the times by 12-hundredths of a second and Andrew reckons 2015 will be just as close.

“We’ve done two tests at Brands Hatch so far,” he said of the pre-season build-up. “The first one was a bit damp and at the second one we worked on a lot of things and did the equivalent of seven race distances! We worked on qualifying and race set-up; specific Brands Indy work for the first race weekend. We really fine tuned the car and I’m very happy with it.”

Andrew knows that the BTCC action will be as fiercely competitive as ever in front of live TV cameras and a big race day crowd. “It’s going to be really close, as always. I’ve been on pole there the last two times and I’d like to make it three in a row. It will come down to who strings a lap together in the traffic. All the leading cars will be very close and we all start the season with no ballast.”

Pirtek is Europe’s number one provider of hydraulic solutions and mobile hose replacement, with over 170 centres supported by over 700 mobile service workshops throughout Europe. Offering solutions to a number of business sectors, including the automotive industry.

After qualifying on Saturday 4 April at 15.40, the first of three BTCC races will be at 11.45 on Sunday, with race two at 14.15 and race three at 17.10. All three races will be broadcast on ITV4. Qualifying will be broadcast live at www.itv.com and live results from the weekend will be available at www.tsl-timing.com
