Pirtek Perth’s customers are very diverse and more entertaining, profitable and hardworking companies on their books has to be Soaper Stars. After being in business for just two years, Soaper Stars has opened its second site and has already collected a prestigious Chamber of Commerce, ‘Most promising new business award .’
The company was started by two friends, one of whom was using a site in the centre of Perth as a car park. Thinking they could make better use of the area, they clubbed together, established Soaper Stars car wash and took it from there. Two sites and nine employees later, the company has turned into a roaring success. Much of that is down to the work ethic and sheer drive of partner Ian Routlidge who runs the second unit on the Inveralmond site in west Perth.
“We believe in giving value for money,” Routlidge says. “We give a great service, do a great job, do it right, and look after people. We now have 60 company contracts, so we must be doing something right.”
Routlidge says that his company shares a certain synergy with Pirtek Perth. “We offer a simple but good service, just like Pirtek. We know our customers and provide a proof of cleaning with every job. We start at 7.30 am, which caters for companies who need an early start, and go right through to 9.00 pm. As a result we have picked up work from Volvo and Ford franchises, as well as local construction companies. The valeting side has gone crazy. I make sure the staff are polite, with every customer greeted with a good morning sir and a smile. Customers find that refreshing. As a result, we are now servicing a lot of new customers, I won’t say how many per day, but it certainly is in the three-figure region now.”
Ian Routlidge has set high standards for his customers and, rightly, expects his suppliers to do likewise. “We expect only the best from our suppliers, because that’s what we provide to our customers. We use Pirtek Perth who supply an excellent, fast service that helps our business to work,” he concludes. “They have never let me down and have provided all sorts of equipment, from hoses to pressure gauges. In fact everything we need.”
