Pirtek Sittingbourne now open
News release date: Friday 30 April 2010
Pirtek responds to upsurge in local demand with opening of new Pirtek Sittingbourne Hose Centre.
As the Thames Gateway Initiative has gained momentum in recent years, its effect has been very apparent to Rochester-based Pirtek Medway.
"Many of the traditional industries may have disappeared from North Kent but there are an astonishing number of new companies moving into the Gateway area, which extends into the neighbouring borough of Swale,” says Pirtek Medway Licensee Tracey Newman. “The new Eurolink development at Sittingbourne has meant that we have a much wider spectrum of customers over a considerably wider catchment area.”
To cater for these extra customers, the team behind Pirtek Medway will be opening a new dedicated Hose Centre at Sittingbourne on April 29th. “The new Centre has been totally driven by local customer demand,” Newman continues. “We aim to provide not just a better and more convenient mobile hose service but a trade counter that will be second to none."
Jason Coalville, Medway's customer relations manager, who will be heading up the team at Sittingbourne, echoed these sentiments. "The trade counter has involved a lot of research with local companies, to make sure we can provide exactly what they need,” Coalville says. “With a diverse client base that includes cement mills, paper manufacturers, docks and pharmaceutical plants, we will need to stock just about every one of the 18,000 line items on offer from Pirtek to ensure that we can meet our customers’ specific needs.”
To celebrate the opening, Pirtek Racing-sponsored driver Andrew Jordan and his Vauxhall Vectra visited the centre, before making their way to Brands Hatch for the next round of the British Touring Car Championship.
