Jordan enjoys successful Spanish test

News release date: Monday 2 March 2009

Pirtek's Andrew Jordan can't wait for the start of the 2009 HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship after enjoying a very successful three-day test at the Valencia circuit in Spain last week.

Andrew had three full days of testing alongside his 2009 team mates Fabrizio Giovanardi and Matt Neal in the works Vauxhall VXRacing team.

"We tried some radical changes to the car to see if they worked for me, and we also did some race runs," reported Andrew. The chance to do full-race distances allowed Andrew to learn about the performance of the tyres and the chassis in a race situation and gave him more invaluable data.

"It was great to get a lot of time in the car and I'm really pleased with how it went. It was also a test session for the World Touring Car Championship teams, so it was amazing to be sharing the tracks with drivers like Alex Zanardi."

Now, the focus of testing will switch back to the UK, with several test days planned before the official championship media day at Rockingham on Thursday 19 March.

"I feel really comfortable in the car and I can’t wait to get testing again. The start of the season can't come too soon for me," said Andrew.
