Trade Counter Assistant

Tasks & Responsibilities

Read, understand and appreciate fully the Pirtek system and above all conform to its direction in all aspects.           

To provide a fast customer service for over the counter jobs, ensuring a high level of service is maintained at all times, including the importance of offering all customers hot or cold drinks while they wait.

Assisting the Centre Manager with the distribution of service calls and receiving of incoming phone calls always keeping in mind our “on-site” within 1 hour objective.

Answer the telephone in a cheerful and pleasant manner so that the caller feels wanted. Answer on the basis of “Good Morning Pirtek – John Speaking”. Do not leave caller on hold for long periods of time, provide an accurate E.T.A and also keep your customer informed of job progress.

Attach tags and maintain tagging system on all hose assemblies produced within the centre.

Assist in maintaining the PVO system or the filing system of job cards.    

Be aware of use and maintenance of safety equipment and fully utilise all safety items within the legal and H&S requirements.

To provide job related Information to MSST’S when required.

Maintain dress and appearance standards in keeping with the Pirtek image and in line with corporate policy. Wear corporate uniform at all times of employment and maintain it in a clean and suitable condition.

To provide support with stock orders in line with Centre Managers requirements.

Be responsible for the upkeep of the depot cleanliness and general housekeeping.   

To maintain vending machine stock and general appearance of customer service area including dusting and upkeep of point of sale items.          

Attend all weekly/monthly staff meetings.

Attend any training courses as deemed necessary.

To give Pirtek U.K. first chance where possible to supply items outside of standard stock.  

To ensure the telephone is diverted correctly in the evening and undiverted in the morning.
