Centre Manager

Functions, Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Maintain Pirtek centre objectives.
  • Work within the overall spirit of the Pirtek Franchise system, support and encourage employees, other Franchisees and the Franchisor in development and operation of the Pirtek system.
  • Follow appraisal procedure outlined in Section 19 of this manual with staff once a year.
  • To be responsible for the day to day running of the centre and distribution of service calls and receiver of most incoming phone calls.
  • To maintain a filing system of job cards which is easy to follow.
  • To collect and monitor work orders and ensure prices, call-outs and information is correct.
  • To provide technical support and information to MSST when required.
  • To organise and administer the MSST after hours rota including the Saturday morning rota and holiday requests.
  • To provide a fast customer service for over the counter jobs or to be responsible for a depot assistant to carry out this role. Including the importance of offering all customers hot or cold drinks. while they wait.
  • To be responsible for machines maintenance, upkeep and good repair.
  • To count and pick monthly and daily stock orders in line with requirements, monitoring fast and slow moving items and ensuring over or under stocking is kept to a minimum.
  • Supervise and be responsible for the upkeep of the depot cleanliness and general housekeeping.
  • Be responsible for overall allowance and upkeep of MSST uniforms.
  • To maintain vending machine stock and general appearance of customer service area including dusting and upkeep of point of sale items.
  • To supervise the timekeeping of MSST's and depot assistants.
  • To give Pirtek U.K. first chance where possible to supply items outside of standard stock.
  • To be responsible for the checking of invoices against work orders.
  • Ensure all vans are presentable inside and out and if necessary commission repairs.
  • Be the first to arrive at the centre and last to go.
  • To ensure the telephone is diverted correctly in the evening and undiverted in the morning.


In general, the Centre Manager is the hub of the business. He or she is responsible for the daily running and upkeep of all items, products, tools and systems used at the centre.
